Description

Our group is developing superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs) for use in a variety of applications, ranging from materials characterization to fundamental tests of quantum mechanics. Our best detectors are based on tungsten silicide and typically operate at a temperature of 1 K or below. We are interested in exploring new materials for detectors that operate at higher temperatures, as well as novel refrigeration schemes for achieving low temperatures.
