Research opportunities are available with the Physical Sciences Laboratory, Modeling and Data Assimilation Division (MDAD). MDAD develops and tests novel data assimilation and artificial intelligence methods, with a focus on applications that can improve NOAA's Unified Forecast System (UFS), an Earth modeling and data assimilation system, and support associated reanalysis and reforecast products. Conducted by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Fellowships Office since 1954, these programs offer a comprehensive research experience through a rigorous selection process.
