This research opportunity involves analysis of data from high altitude aircraft campaigns, from satellite, from balloon borne platforms, and data assimilation products as well as global climate modeling. The objective is to conduct theoretical and observational studies to better understand processes controlling transport and mixing in and between the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, and how those processes may change in an increased greenhouse gas climate, or due to geoengineering.
