The FY25 COPS Hiring Program (CHP) is a federal grant initiative from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), part of the U.S. Department of Justice. The program provides funding to state, local, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies to hire or rehire additional career law enforcement officers. The goal is to increase community policing capacity, foster community partnerships, and proactively address public safety issues such as violent and nonviolent crime, as well as fear of crime.
