Approaches to Assessing Intake of Food and Dietary Supplements in Pregnant Women and Children 2 to 11 Years of Age: A Workshop Series

Obtaining reliable and valid dietary intake information for pregnant women and children aged 2 to 11 years old is particularly difficult. In pregnancy, assessment of dietary intakes is complicated because of the rapidly changing diets and nutrient needs. Young children consume much of their dietary intakes outside of the home and are often inaccurate reporters, making reporting a challenge.
