--- ## Description The Law & Science Program supports research that advances scientific theory and understanding of the connections between human behavior and law, legal institutions, or legal processes, as well as the interactions of law with basic sciences and technology. The program is inherently interdisciplinary, encouraging a variety of methodological approaches to explore the dynamic nature of law and its interactions with multiple arenas and participants. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: - Crime, violence, and policing - Cyberspace and information technology - Economic issues - Environmental science and regulation - Evidentiary and forensic science - Governance, courts, and legal professions - Human rights and comparative law - Legal and ethical issues related to science and emerging technologies - Legal decision making, mobilization, and conceptions of justice - Punishment, corrections, and biotechnology regulation The program welcomes standard research grants, collaborative research, and conference awards.
