The Pain Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic provides an excellent opportunity for training in acute, chronic and oncologic pain management. Using a problem-oriented approach, you obtain pertinent histories, perform relevant physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests. You also develop superior competence in all aspects of neural blockade. Acute pain medicine training is focused primarily on postoperative patients. To be eligible for the Pain Medicine Fellowship, you must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited residency and be board eligible in your base specialty.
