This research program focuses on linear and nonlinear phenomena in the solar-system plasma environments. Areas of study include (1) physics of solar eruptive phenomena,(2) heliospheric processes, (3) large-scale simulations of the solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere system, (4) plasma instabilities and anomalous transport processes in the magnetospheric and ionospheric plasmas, (5) particle acceleration processes, (6) magnetic reconnection, (7) active experimentation in space, and (8) nonlinear dynamics and chaos in space plasmas...
