This research program includes modeling (Matlab and Simulink), design, control, and hardware demonstrations of power converters. Applications include shipboard power systems, avionics, microgrids, and utility grid interface. Hardware implementation requires printed circuit board design and layout, programming of digital signal processors, field programmable gate arrays or microcontrollers to control power electronics.
