Discovery and Development of Natural Products for Cancer Interception and Prevention (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Description

The overall goal of this UG3/UH3 Exploratory/Developmental phased initiative is to support the discovery and development of novel natural products that are safe, nontoxic, and efficacious for cancer interception and prevention. 1. Purpose of UG3:Select clinically relevant targets and develop and validate assays for bioactivity as well as toxicity screening 2. Purpose of UH3 phase: Screening libraries, structure elucidation, full-scale characterization, efficacy testing, and development of the screened agents.

Eligible Applicants- State governments- County governments- City or township governments- Special district governments- Independent school districts- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)- Nonprofits having a 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education- Nonprofits that do not have a 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education- Private institutions of higher education- For-profit organizations other than small businesses- Small businesses- Others
