Ferromagnetic semiconductors combine the nonvolatile character of magnetic materials with the optical and band-gap engineering properties of semiconductors. This research aims to advance these materials and develop new ferromagnetic semiconductor compounds for spintronic devices. Key goals include improving material understanding, developing new compounds, and demonstrating quantum spin devices. Facilities for growth and characterization are available, including MBE, CVD, Raman, photoluminescence, and more.
