The overall goal is on investigating the dynamical processes that control the upwelling in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea (ECSYS). In particular, this research aims to determine the dynamics of upwelling related to tides and how it affects the water mass distribution in the ECSYS among other topics related to the upwelling. This position requires a broad understanding of physical oceanography and numerical ocean modeling.
