The Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), on behalf of the Department of Defense (DoD), invites applications for cooperative agreements supporting conservation projects that directly benefit the management of natural and cultural resources on DoD lands. The program aims to enhance conservation objectives, support military readiness, and foster community engagement through projects of regional or DoD-wide significance. Projects must align with DoD stewardship priorities and demonstrate public benefit beyond government needs.
Key topic areas include biodiversity conservation (especially for DoD "mission priority species"), ecosystem resilience, wildland fire management, tribal consultation and Indigenous Knowledge integration, and cultural resource management. Cross-cutting priorities include climate adaptation, readiness and range sustainment, new technologies, and data management.
