This opportunity funds a cooperative agreement to evaluate the effectiveness of past riparian habitat improvement projects and littoral zone habitat creation at borrow pits on Eielson Air Force Base (EAFB), Alaska. The project aims to assess whether these efforts have successfully developed habitat conditions favorable to native fish and wildlife species, as required by wetland permits and the 2023 EAFB Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP). The work will inform future habitat management and compliance with environmental regulations, supporting both ecological health and operational needs (e.g., reducing bird air strike hazards).
