The Health and Medicine Division of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine shall form an ad hoc planning committee to plan and host a public workshop examining healthcare system experiences of people facing barriers and members of racial/ethnic minorities. Additional InformationThe National Academies hosted a workshop to examine experiences of individuals with disabilities and how these affect SSA disability determinations. The workshop intended to address societal and systemic barriers, recording of experiences in medical records, trust in medical services, and inappropriateness of certain medical tests for sub-populations.
