Basic and applied research opportunities are available to study the host pathogen interaction of emerging viruses, in particular members of the Bunyavirales. Projects focus on using relevant small animal systems to study the molecular and cellular determinates of viral pathogenesis, especially the involvement of the inflammatory response in tissue injury.
