Executive Order 14008 established the Justice40 initiative, which aims to deliver 40% of the overall benefits from certain federal investments in energy, transit, housing, workforce development, water infrastructure, and pollution reduction to disadvantaged communities. An ad hoc committee of the National Academies will assess the Department of Energy's implementation of its Justice40 programs.
