Description
Since 1994, the U.S. and Canada have co-sponsored the development and publication of a harmonized set of nutrient-based Dietary Reference Intake values. Over time, a need for a standing committee to address over-arching issues related to DRI concepts to facilitate a consistent approach for reviewing and setting DRIs has developed. The National Academies mobilize approximately 6,000 top experts each year who volunteer their time and knowledge to conduct policy studies, workshops, and other activities aimed at addressing critical issues facing the nation and world.

The standing committee will produce approximately 2 letter reports a year in response to questions relevant to a range of questions relevant to the DRI framework and structuring new DRI reviews as questions arise from various DRI consensus committees. Additional URLs:
