The field of communications and sensing continues to extend into UV, EUV, far IR, and visible frequency bands. However, there is a clear gap when it comes to terahertz frequencies. This gap stems from limited sensors and sources available in this range. A terahertz source with sufficient power could change the landscape of material characterization, communications, and sensing.
