Description

Emerging hard disk drive and spintronics technologies require novel materials that have increasing demands on fabrication compatibility and performance. This research aims to determine the fundamental origins of perpendicular anisotropy and its effect on magnetization dynamics in various materials, particularly how these properties change when patterned into nanostructures. Advanced measurement techniques and material characterization methods will be used to study these phenomena.
