The Gerda Henkel Foundation offers PhD scholarships to support up-and-coming scholars in various fields including Archaeology, History of Art, Historical Islamic Studies, History, History of Science, History of Law, and Prehistory and Early History. Award Amount$1,920

Eligible Applicants- Applicants must have an overall graduation grade (Masters) of 1.5 or better- must not have been older than 28 years of age at the time of graduating and qualifying for a PhD program. Exceptions to the age limit are considered for special circumstances such as night school- childcare- military service- work experience. PhD scholarships are awarded for up to two years and can be extended up to 12 months. Only full-time scholarships are available- and applicants must apply in English or German.
