Research grants are intended to encourage the development of new information that contributes to the understanding of the basic etiology and pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis. Applications must be submitted online at awards.cff.org by 5 p.m. ET on December 7, 2023. Only one application allowed per applicant in 2023 (either Spring or Fall cycle).

- Hypothesis-driven proposals with preliminary data. Priority for projects that aim to understand disease mechanisms
- prevent or treat CF. Clinical studies should be submitted through other funding mechanisms like Clinical Research Award or Clinical Pilot and Feasibility Award.
