Description
This opportunity supports planning and construction projects that enhance the resilience of highways, public transportation, ports, and intercity passenger rail to current and future weather events, natural disasters, and changing conditions such as flooding, wildfires, sea level rise, and extreme weather. The program aims to protect critical transportation assets, ensure rapid recovery, and reduce long-term costs through resilience improvements and strategies across the surface transportation system. Funding is provided through four grant categories: Planning Grants, Resilience Improvement Grants, Community Resilience and Evacuation Route Grants, and At-Risk Coastal Infrastructure Grants.
