--- ## Description The FUN Undergraduate Research Travel Awards, sponsored in part by the Grass Foundation, are designed to support undergraduate neuroscientists in presenting their research at the annual Society for Neuroscience (SfN) meeting in San Diego, CA. These awards recognize and encourage students who demonstrate a strong commitment to neuroscience research by providing financial assistance for travel and attendance expenses. The program aims to foster the next generation of neuroscientists by facilitating their participation in a major international conference and highlighting the importance and originality of their scientific contributions. --- ## Due Dates - June 2026 (anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Each award provides up to $1,000 to help defray travel and attendance expenses for the Society for Neuroscience meeting. - Award funds are typically distributed at the SfN meeting; awardees and their advisors are expected to assist at the FUN booth. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be undergraduate students who have conducted neuroscience research and are accepted to present a poster at the main Society for Neuroscience meeting. - The student must be an author on the abstract and present research resulting from studies conducted while an undergraduate. - Students are eligible if the work was completed before their graduation in the previous academic year; current undergraduate enrollment at the time of the conference is not required. - Previous recipients of a FUN travel award are not eligible to reapply. - All applications must be submitted by a faculty sponsor who is a dues-paying member of the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) in good standing. - International applicants are welcome, but their mentor must be an active FUN member.
