The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) subgrant enables elementary schools in South Carolina to offer free fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks to all enrolled students during the school day, outside of standard meal periods. The program aims to expand students’ exposure to a variety of produce, increase overall fruit and vegetable consumption, and foster lifelong healthy eating habits. FFVP also encourages schools to build partnerships at the state and local levels to support program implementation and sustainability.
