Stanford University’s King Center on Global Development provides research funding to support new or early-stage projects that address critical challenges in global development and poverty, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The program is open to Stanford faculty and postdoctoral scholars and encourages interdisciplinary approaches across fields such as earth sciences, economics, engineering, medicine, political science, and policy. The initiative aims to launch projects that can later secure external funding and places special emphasis on proposals that offer meaningful research opportunities for Stanford graduate students. Additional targeted funding may be available for research focused on Brazil or China, in partnership with relevant Stanford centers.
