This program seeks proposals that enhance education, training, and workforce development for marine-related professions in Alaska, with a focus on sustainability, seafood safety, technological innovation, and outreach. Supported by Executive Order 14276 (Restoring America’s Seafood Competitiveness), the grant funds projects that prepare communities for employment in marine fields, improve fishing practices, boost seafood marketing and management, and educate consumers and stakeholders on the quality and sustainability of Alaska’s wild-caught and aquaculture products. Collaboration and partnerships among industry, researchers, government, and community organizations are encouraged. All funded projects must be conducted within Alaska.
