Description
The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) offers this FY 2026 crisis opportunity through its Antiterrorism Emergency Assistance Program (AEAP). Funded by the Antiterrorism Emergency Reserve, AEAP provides supplemental support to victims of mass criminal violence and terrorism. Its goal is to improve access to services, assistance—including victim compensation—and outcomes for victims.
AEAP responds to incidents large enough that a jurisdiction cannot meet victims’ needs promptly and comprehensively with existing resources while continuing to serve victims of other crimes. OVC generally uses these funds for incidents unusually large for the locale, typically involving unpredictable, indiscriminate, or broad targeting of victims, or another unique aspect of the crime.
