Description
This grant program is designed to help animal welfare organizations in New York State comply with the new regulatory requirements for animal shelters that took effect on December 15, 2025, under Article 26-C. Funds may be used to upgrade facilities, improve operations, and implement protocols that elevate animal health and welfare, as well as ensure compliance with state-mandated standards. Eligible expenses include retrofitting enclosures, staff training, acquiring medical equipment, upgrading recordkeeping systems, improving sanitation, and contracting with veterinary or behavioral professionals.
