Summary: Supports early career scientists to conduct independent, innovative radio astronomy research using NRAO facilities and contributing to the Observatory’s mission.
The Jansky Fellowship Program, administered by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), is designed to support outstanding early career scientists in conducting independent research that leverages NRAO facilities and advances the Observatory’s mission. Fellows have the opportunity to work with world-leading radio telescopes such as ALMA, VLA, VLBA, and GBO, as well as participate in the development of the next generation VLA. The fellowship encourages innovative research in radio astronomy, multi-wavelength science, instrumentation, computation, and theory. Appointments can be made at NRAO’s internal sites, or in special cases, as split or non-resident fellowships at U.S.-based universities, fostering close ties between the fellow and NRAO. The program offers a unique environment for professional growth, collaboration, and significant contributions to the field of radio astronomy.
