Only state geological surveys (or universities on their behalf) are eligible; 1:1 non-federal cost match required.

--- ## Description This annual program from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) provides funding to state geological surveys for the preservation, cataloging, and public accessibility of geological and geophysical data and materials, including maps, well logs, samples, and other archival resources. The program aims to enhance research and education use, address Department of the Interior priorities, and support the preservation of geoscience resources as well as data related to critical minerals. Projects must align with one or both FY 2026 priorities: (1) preservation and infrastructure development for geoscience resources, and (2) preservation and strategic planning for critical minerals data.
