Description
This program funds projects that help communities turn wood generated from urban tree pruning, removals, storm events, and pest or disease outbreaks into useful products such as lumber, furniture, flooring, or biochar. The goal is to reduce waste, create local economic value, support workforce development, and improve community resilience. Competitive proposals will demonstrate alignment with existing community forestry plans, application of industry safety standards, and delivery of measurable economic, environmental, or workforce benefits. Projects should be practical, creative, and replicable, supporting the broader adoption of community tree resource utilization.
