The California Sea Grant State Fellowship Program provides recent or soon-to-be graduates from California universities with a unique, year-long professional development opportunity focused on coastal and marine resources and policy. Modeled after the national Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship, this program places fellows in municipal, state, or federal agencies, as well as research and conservation organizations involved in coastal or marine resource management in California. Fellows work full-time on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid format, contributing to host agency projects and receiving mentorship and hands-on experience in policy and resource management. Optional Extension Projects offer additional professional development through engagement with the California Sea Grant Extension Program.
