The Psychoanalytic & Psychodynamic Teachers’ Academy is a competitive, year-long professional development program offered by the American Psychoanalytic Association. It is designed for mental health educators who are not psychoanalysts but who teach psychoanalytic therapy or theory to students or trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling, or related fields. The program aims to foster excellence in psychoanalytic teaching, provide mentorship, and build a supportive community of educators. Selected participants attend the APsA’s National Meeting, engage in master classes and group discussions, receive mentorship from experienced educators, and participate in social and professional networking activities. Graduates are recognized as APsA Teaching Scholars.
