Description
This fellowship opportunity supports research projects in physical oceanography and geophysical fluid dynamics at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California. The research focuses on analytical and numerical methods to study physical processes involved in the formation and motion of oceanic water masses. Key topics include:
- Physical properties of oceanic mesoscale and submesoscale variability
- Dynamics and transport characteristics of double diffusive convection
- Patterns and detection of stratified wakes
The program is designed for postdoctoral and senior researchers to conduct self-directed research aligned with the goals of the host laboratory. Awardees will work closely with a Research Adviser and have access to state-of-the-art facilities.
