Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ocean Acidification Program (OAP), through the NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP), invites postdoctoral and senior researchers to apply for fellowships focused on synthesizing and analyzing novel ocean data related to marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR). The goal is to support the design of idealized field research and pilot projects that actively mitigate ocean acidification.
Fellows will utilize data primarily from the OAP-managed mCDR research portfolio, along with other available datasets, to address topics such as:
- Designing field and modeling studies for mCDR pilot projects.
- Comparing pilot project designs for mCDR as an active ocean acidification mitigation approach.
- Developing products tailored to idealized regional locations for mCDR deployment.
The research must make significant use of NOAA-funded and sponsored data, contributing to the advancement of marine carbon dioxide removal science and informing future field research strategies.
