Key Information: Each institution and PI/co-PI may submit only one proposal per competition.
Description
The Strengthening the Cyberinfrastructure Professionals Ecosystem (SCIPE) program aims to democratize access to NSF's advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) by building, recognizing, and sustaining a national workforce of Cyberinfrastructure Professionals (CIPs). The program supports projects that integrate CIPs into the research enterprise, foster innovative and scalable education and training, and address emerging needs and bottlenecks in CI workforce development.
SCIPE projects are expected to:
- Deepen the integration of CIPs into science and engineering (S&E) research and education.
- Develop and disseminate innovative training, mentoring, and instructional materials for CIPs.
- Enhance career pathways and recognition for CIPs.
- Broaden participation in advanced CI across disciplines, institutions, and underrepresented groups.
- Build sustainable, scalable communities or networks of CIPs.
Projects may be single- or multi-institutional, target specific S&E domains or regions, and must include plans for sustainability beyond the NSF funding period. Funded CIPs are expected to contribute both locally and nationally, including at least 20% effort to support broader CI user communities via the ACCESS program’s Computational Science Support Network (CSSN).
