Description
This opportunity supports exploratory and developmental research projects aimed at optimizing outcomes along the HIV prevention and care continuum. The program encourages innovative studies that address gaps in HIV prevention, testing, linkage to care, adherence, and retention, with a strong emphasis on behavioral and social science approaches. Projects may include formative research to better understand specific steps in the continuum, as well as the initial development and pilot testing of novel interventions.
The funding aligns with the priorities of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Division of AIDS Research (DAR). Applicants are encouraged to consult current Notices of Special Interest (NOSIs) from NIMH DAR and the NIH Office of AIDS Research Strategic Plan to ensure alignment with current research priorities.
Both domestic and international research is eligible, and multidisciplinary, community-engaged, and implementation science approaches are encouraged. Clinical trials are optional under this mechanism.
