Description
This program, administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine, aims to safeguard prominent examples of Ukraine’s cultural heritage that are at risk due to the ongoing war. Grants support urgent projects in two main categories: (1) Site-Specific Projects for protection and stabilization at individual sites or collections, and (2) Regional Assessment and Rapid Response Projects for broader geographic assessments and prioritized recovery actions.
Eligible activities include:
- Assessment and documentation of risk and damage to cultural heritage sites, objects, and collections
- Protection from theft, damage, or further harm
- Stabilization or temporary repair of damaged sites and collections
- Recovery, conservation, restoration, or reconstruction as conditions allow
Applicants may propose projects up to 60 months in duration and may submit multiple applications to one or both categories.
