Description
This program funds U.S. institutions of higher education to develop or continue scholarship programs that train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals for government service at the federal, state, local, or tribal level. The initiative aims to address the critical need for a robust, diverse, and highly skilled cybersecurity workforce by supporting scholarships for students studying cybersecurity and closely related fields. In return, scholarship recipients commit to government service in a cybersecurity role for a period equal to their scholarship support.
Proposals must demonstrate a strong existing academic program in cybersecurity, evidenced by ABET accreditation, National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) designation, or equivalent. The program also encourages innovative, interdisciplinary approaches and broadening participation of underrepresented groups in cybersecurity.
