Description
This program, administered by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), aims to strengthen the research capabilities of Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) by establishing Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST). CREST Centers are expected to integrate research and education, promote the participation of students and faculty from groups underrepresented in STEM, and achieve national research competitiveness. The program supports both new (Phase I) and renewal (Phase II) centers, as well as partnership supplements to foster collaborations with other research entities. CREST Centers are also expected to develop sustainable research enterprises and secure additional funding beyond the CREST award.
