Description
The Fellowships Open Book Program, administered by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities in partnership with the NEH Division of Research Programs and Division of Education Programs, provides grants to publishers to produce open access digital editions of humanities books. These books must be based on research funded by an eligible NEH fellowship or grant.
The program supports the digital release of e-books under a Creative Commons license, making them freely downloadable and redistributable by anyone. Eligible books include forthcoming titles or those published, reissued, or printed in new editions during or after calendar year 2010.
This initiative aims to broaden access to outstanding humanities scholarship by leveraging low-cost e-book technology, benefiting teachers, students, scholars, and the general public.
