Description
This opportunity from the National Science Foundation (NSF) aims to improve the quality and environment of astronomy and astrophysics research and education in the United States. The program supports the development of formal, long-term partnerships that create authentic pathways into the research enterprise, particularly for individuals from groups historically underrepresented in astronomy. Partnerships must substantially involve institutions seeking to increase recruitment, retention, and success of these individuals, and are expected to build or strengthen research capacity while fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment.
The program encourages proposals from a wide range of eligible institutions, including minority-serving institutions, and supports both fully developed partnerships (up to 5 years) and shorter-term projects (1–2 years) to develop new collaborations. Activities may include collaborative research, education projects, student and faculty exchanges, and professional development.
