This funding opportunity from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) aims to advance clean fossil energy and carbon management technologies by promoting domestic and international consensus. The grant focuses on two main program areas:

• Program Area 1: Carbon Management Technologies
  This area targets advancing technologies such as point-source carbon capture, hydrogen with carbon management, methane emissions reduction, critical mineral production, and carbon dioxide removal (CDR). It emphasizes outreach, education, and cooperative action to improve understanding and deployment of carbon management technologies. Activities include expert consultations, independent analyses, development of tailored outreach materials, and support for technical conferences and workshops both domestically and internationally.

• Program Area 2: Domestic and International Oil, Natural Gas, Methane Hydrates, Hydrogen, and Critical Minerals
  This area supports reducing environmental impacts and emissions across the fossil fuel supply chain, including production, transportation, and storage. It also covers advanced remediation technologies and improving critical minerals extraction and processing. The program facilitates bilateral and regional initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and coordination of advisory groups to share best practices and technical knowledge globally.

The grant encourages partnerships with organizations sharing similar goals to foster cooperative efforts and public education on carbon management and clean energy technologies.
