Description
The National Science Foundation's Gen-4 Engineering Research Centers (ERC) program funds large, multi-institutional centers that integrate engineering research, education, workforce development, diversity, and innovation to address transformative challenges with high societal impact. ERCs are expected to advance engineered systems through convergent, interdisciplinary research and foster inclusive partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders. The program emphasizes the development of engineered systems that can significantly improve national prosperity, health, and security, while building a robust, diverse engineering workforce and creating sustainable innovation ecosystems.
