Description
This opportunity, part of NASA's annual Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) omnibus, solicits proposals for the Heliophysics U.S. Participating Investigator (H-USPI) program element. The program supports U.S. researchers to serve as Co-Investigators on heliophysics instruments, experiments, or technology demonstrations that are being built and flown by agencies other than NASA. The goal is to enhance the scientific return of non-NASA missions, benefit the U.S. scientific community, and provide access to valuable data sets.
Eligible investigations may include instrument design, modeling, calibration, data analysis, development of innovative analysis techniques, and participation in science team activities. All proposals must include a meaningful data analysis component, archiving of the complete data set, and publication of results in peer-reviewed literature.
Investigations requiring the provision of flight hardware are not eligible. Only new investigations are solicited; extensions or supplements to existing NASA-funded projects are not appropriate.
