Description
This opportunity funds administrative support for the Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program (NHHSP) under the Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act (NHHCIA). The NHHSP aims to improve the health of Native Hawaiians by promoting health, preventing disease, and strengthening health care infrastructure. The program awards scholarships to eligible Native Hawaiian students enrolled in accredited health professions schools in exchange for a service commitment to provide primary health care to Native Hawaiians in Hawaii.
The administrative support funded through this cooperative agreement enables the recruitment, training, placement, and monitoring of Native Hawaiian scholarship recipients, with a focus on culturally relevant health care delivery and placement in priority communities.
