Description
This funding opportunity from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) is designed to support state-level demonstration projects that implement the 2022 National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers. The grant aims to help states develop, test, and scale models that advance at least three of the Strategy’s five goals, including increasing awareness, strengthening supports, advancing partnerships, ensuring financial security, and expanding data use for family caregivers. Projects must be grounded in the Strategy, foster broad state agency collaboration, and produce measurable, sustainable outcomes that can be maintained beyond the grant period.
Grantees are expected to:
- Build cross-agency partnerships (including State Units on Aging, the state developmental disabilities agency, and at least one other state agency).
- Focus on at least three of the five strategic goals.
- Include a robust planning period (up to six months) followed by implementation.
- Submit a sustainability plan post-planning.
- Engage with technical assistance resources and advisory committees as appropriate.
