PurposeThe intent of this funding opportunity is to award entities to focus on specific targeted partnerships and innovative strategies to reduce falls and/or falls risk among the majority being older adults (60 years and older) and adults with disabilities, with a focus on those with greatest social and/or greatest economic needs (i.e., target population for this Funding) through the implementation of evidence-based falls prevention programs with an innovative person-centered approach.This funding opportunity has...

Eligible Applicants- State governments- County governments- City or township governments- Special district governments- Independent school districts- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)- Nonprofits having a 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education- Nonprofits that do not have a 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education- Private institutions of higher education

Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.:
