Description
This funding opportunity supports small-scale research projects to advance the development and application of neuroimaging tools and methodologies in substance use disorder (SUD) and addiction research. The program is designed for both newly independent and established investigators seeking to incorporate brain imaging into their research, enabling "proof-of-concept" studies that can be completed within a year and with limited resources. Projects should aim to expand understanding of central nervous system dysfunction in the context of substance use and addiction, using imaging modalities such as PET, SPECT, and optical imaging. Priority is given to studies that develop or optimize imaging tools, apply novel imaging methods, or use imaging to explore neurobiological mechanisms underlying SUD.
